Be assertive about whether you want kids, and be prepared to lose love if you or your partner has to compromise on it. If you know you're not cut out for it, don't let someone tell you you are just to fill a blank in a story they told themselves when they were 6.

    Eat healthy (a balanced diet. Minimum junk) and don't smoke or drink (at least not as much as I did) and exercise. Anything. Walk, hike, weights etc. Protect the INSIDE of your body. You can save all the money you want, but taking care of your body is an investment in your future self. Edit: I'll add on to this as a "cover all", get an annual physical and listen to your doctor.
