One of the worst things that can happen to us during our day is accidentally stepping on our cat's tail or their purrfect paws. Yes, you heard us right. Getting fired? No big deal. Stuck in traffic? Psssssh, no problem. But accidentally hurting our cat and not knowing if they understood our apology? Terrible. Day-ruining. We always offer them lots of snacks after to make our apology clear, but would you be okay if someone wasn't sorry after doing it to your cat?

After her boyfriend refuses to apologize for stepping on her kitten's tail, one feisty feline enthusiast sees a red flag that she never saw before, and is wondering if it is worthy of a breakup.     What a sweet little angel! How could you not feel bad after accidentally hurting this tiny baby? What's worse is that cats don't understand "accidents" - they think everything we do, we do on purrrpose.

But not even feeling bad about inflicting pain, even if accidentally, on an animal, is not something that I personally could live with. We all have our boundaries and dealbreakers, you don't need any excuse to keep to them, you are justified to do so :)

I've stepped on many tails and paws, they appear out of nowhere, but I'm not upset for long, if the cat seems ok. They get extra cuddles and treats, they forgive me and we both move on.

    I know whenever I or anyone here accidentally hurts one of our kitties by accidentally stepping on a tail or paw, we give them a little space if they run away but we all instantly feel terrible that we caused them any pain. When the offended cat comes around again we usually shower them with apologies, pets and treats.

    We usually feel bad for a bit, even if there was no lasting harm done. The cats are here for us to give them a better life than they would ever get in a shelter or outside. In return we get abused, ignored, scratched and sometimes purrs and love. I'm kidding, our cats are sweethearts. Point is, accidentally hurting a cat goes against the entire point of why we adopted them, and we all feel extremely bad if it happens.

    I dunno how to feel about someone who doesn't feel bad about hurting an innocent, defenseless animal, even accidentally. It's weird. The lack of compassion bothers me.
