Some of my favorite childhood memories are from playing board games with my family. It brought out the competitive edge in all of us, and even though there were times when things got ugly, we usually had buckets of fun. My favorite board game memory is when my mom, my little sister, and I played Monopoly together one unassuming summer day. About an hour in, we took a break to get snacks and go to the restroom. Soon after we resumed playing, my mom noticed something. My then 7-year-old sister had stolen all of the $500 bills that were in the bank and snuck them under the board for herself. This was the 2nd grader equivalent of hiding mob money in her mattress. Suffice it to say we had to momentarily stop the game and learn a brief lesson about the immorality of stealing. If you have spent many fun hours doing family game nights, these game memes will surely resound.
