Hello, rental tenants. We're sure you're excited to be here, as your upstairs neighbor is moving mountains in the early A.M. on this lovely morning. Well, since you're awake: good morning! Renting is often frustrating because you have to deal with some less-than-polite landlords, unsafe living conditions, no hot water, paint chipping from the ceiling and into your food, mold issues, plumbing issues—you get the point. Don't worry, I'm a fellow renter myself. “Down with the landlords!” and all that jazz.
Sometimes, the landlord special just won't cut it. The strange and daunting millennial gray color, the paint over every electrical outlet. Who decided this was the standard? As the cost of living increases, so do our expectations (and rightfully so). So why do tenants still have to constantly worry if a cockroach is going to rest gently on their pillow next to their head at night? Don't get me wrong, homeowning and landlord-ing are respectable in their own right, and there are plenty of valuable and priceless people who aim to make renting affordable and comfortable.
