Do you remember the days when jobs would provide you with a work phone? Some still do: instead of using your personal phone, your workplace might provide you with a phone just for work. People feel different ways about this. Some love the separation of work and personal life---not to mention that they'll never accidentally text their boss something that was meant for their spouse, or send a sensitive email from their personal account. Other workers don't like carrying multiple devices, and let's be honest, who wants two phones in their pockets for 40 hours per week? The idea of being able to easily separate work life from home life does sound appealing, though.
This person's boss probably thought that giving them a phone just for work would increase their productivity, but it seems to have done the opposite. At least for this employee, who's been a general manager for seven years and counting, their boss's new directive has worked out in their favor!
