There's something so strange about people with kids making their childless friends feel bad for having a lower cost of living. How often have you heard this line: "If you think your life is expensive now, just wait until you have kids!" Those are the kinds of people who say, "You think that having one kid is tough, just wait until you've got two!" Their struggle is always more important or difficult than yours, and they always know better by way of hindsight.
I totally empathize with the struggle of using most of the extra cash in your paycheck for your children's needs, but that was your choice. Just because someone has extra dough doesn't mean they should be using it to support your growing family. Those are the demands that two sisters in their 30s are putting on their younger 20-something sister. When she didn't want to pay for their older children's meals, they were shocked and appalled.
