'Speakerphone in public': 28 Gear-Grinding Habits That Make Rational People Short Circuit

We learn how to be a functioning member of society in our younger years. Our elementary teachers would scold, 'Don't pull Sally's pigtails, it's not nice' or 'Chew with your mouth closed, it's not polite to talk while you're eating'. Children get a free pass when it comes to impolite behaviors and habits since they haven't fully learned how to be an independent human yet, but when you're a grown adult on the subway and you're yapping while scarfing down a sloppy joe sandwich, there's no longer a free-pass with your name on it. Yuck.

You're grinding everyone's gears with that feral behavior. 

This is society! We have rules! Politeness is what keeps us all civil and when folks start acting like savages, where do we draw the line on decency? There are a number of habits like this that can make rational people irrationally angry. For example, not using your blinker, walking too slowly on a busy sidewalk, and hitting snooze on 18 alarms, waking the whole house before getting out of bed–These are all indicators of bad stewardship of the human race in society. Do better, people! 

So without further ado, if you're a particular person (some might say, 'Type-A' or 'perfectionist'), then you're probably already aware of a laundry list of no-no's when it comes to acceptable public behavior. Chew with your mouth open at home for all I care, but here on public transportation, close your mouth for all of our sakes.
