Happy Caturday, dear readers and members of the cat community. We happily consider ourselves crazy cat ladies, and you know what? We're purrfectly proud of it. We love our cats (more than most people) and we know everything about them. But, for as much as we know about cats, there is always more to learn! It's time to put your kitty cat knowledge to the test and see if you knew any of the wholesome fun facts we found below in a thread that is literally purrfect for fans of the feline community!

We will admit that we didn't know a lot of these, and it just made us love our floofy felines even more. If you consider yourself a feline expurrt, it's time to put your fancy feast where your mouth is.     We're sure you will find some on here that you already know - like how cats only meow to hoomans, or that the slow blink means "I love you", but did you know that they can see in ultraviolet also? Yeah, neither did we.

The extra taurine is a major distinguishing feature between cat food and dog food, which is why domestic cats should not be fed exclusively dog food, even if they like it. If you are making cat food at home, make sure to include a taurine supplement.

    Cats are also obligate carnivores, meaning (if wild) they only eat meat and a tiny bit of carbs potentially when they eat the stomach of whatever small rodent they kill. Cats will not (can not) thrive on a vegetarian diet alone.
