'Never overstay your welcome': Couple reverse guilt-trips their inconsiderate family when they refuse to host another messy family gathering

This entitled family thought that they could get away with never hosting a festive holiday dinner again since one couple decided not to have children, but after haphazardly destroying the sanctity of their home, their gracious hosts ran out of patience.

Hosting parties is a lot of work. You really have to love having people over because, odds are, you're going to be the one who's multitasking as a caterer, DJ, conversation starter, and cleaning lady. Without the potentially heavy financial burden of hosting, you have to also consider that your guests aren't going to be quite as earnest about your home's cleanliness as you are. Inevitably, your living room is going to have scuff marks, dropped food morsels, or just the sticky fingerprints of every in-law's greasy kids.

But when it comes to family parties, that creates a whole new element of entitlement.

The couple in this next story recently posted on Reddit lamenting over a hosting predicament. After years of being considered the 'young, childfree, affluent couple with the big house and the central location', they had gotten stuck hosting their fair share of family events. At first, it was great! Events were fun, everyone came with the kiddos, and it was worth all of the trouble–but once the family got a little too comfortable in their host's home, things got stickier than the kid's table mac and cheese spilled on their opulent Berber rug.
