The pup's duty is to smell out the chemicals changing in her mom's body before she faints. She then alerts her about it and gets her to lie down so that the woman doesn't cause further injury to herself. Without Sparrow, the woman could faint and hit her head, causing her even more medical issues. Sparrow is very good at her job and this video proves that even more.

To all appearances, Sparrow was off duty. Her service dog vest was off and she was playing fetch with her mom. However, she started acting strange mid-play.
