Woman Refuses To Financially Support Entitled Sister, Family Expects Woman To Fund Sister's ‘Ridiculous’ Lavish Lifestyle: ‘I worked so hard for what I have’
When rough times come about, sometimes you have to part ways with certain priorities and sacrifice the overly lavish luxuries. I mean, inflation is inevitable. So, if you're struggling to find ways to fund your handbag obsession or your bi-weekly nail appointment, you can start by reconsidering what your priorities should be. For example, buying an at-home gel polish kit or searching for handbags secondhand at certain antique thrift stores.
When you're the one who's on their feet financially, it feels good. When you have a family member, and in this story's case, a sister, trying to mooch off of your fortune (as she does with everybody), that doesn't feel as good. Especially when she grew up not having a care in the world about finances, having been coddled her entire life while you were busting your behind attempting to make a name and life for yourself. Independence is one of the most important things, ladies. Once you've found a way to manage life alone, you wonder why everyone starts coming up from out of the woodwork to take your hard-earned coin away from you. What if you wanted to go handbag shopping or invest in the stock market?
The original poster (OP) is being ostracized by her family because she refuses to enable her sister's unhealthy spending habits (especially with money that isn't even hers.) What would you do in this situation? If you're intrigued by this, scroll to read the rest of this story. Remember: we ladies have to help each other out, but not when the fallout will do your sisters more harm than good.
