Deadpool made his entrance at the Game Awards, because of course he did, right after everyone was distracted by Rogue stealing powers and breaking brains. While we were all busy theory crafting Rogue builds, Deadpool kicked the door down in animated trailer form and reminded us that subtlety has never been his brand.
We still don’t know how he actually plays. Vanguard? DPS? Strategist? All three at once because he refuses to respect class systems? No idea. What we do know is that he’s launching with Season 6, Night at the Museum, on January 16, 2026. Story wise, he gets unleashed by The Collector, opens every cage in the museum, and turns the place into an intergalactic disaster zone. Extremely on brand. Elsa Bloodstone also pops up, hinting she’ll join shortly after, which honestly feels like a very strong follow up.
I do have one hang up though. The voice. I didn’t expect Ryan Reynolds, but I was really hoping for Nolan North, who is already voicing Rocket and could probably voice the entire roster without anyone noticing. Neil Patrick Harris was also a solid guess since he’s voicing Deadpool in the VR game. But nope. It’s someone else. And while it’s not bad, it does throw me off a bit. Deadpool lives and dies by delivery, so I’m cautiously optimistic until I hear more.
Still, Deadpool crashing the party right after Rogue, at the Game Awards, with zero gameplay and maximum chaos, is exactly how he should arrive. Subtle entrances are for people with impulse control.
