Discriminatory coworker only takes private messages from female colleagues, faces payback when he asks male coworker to solely message him in the group chat: '[he] is only ever nice and helpful to the girls'

Workplace relationships are rarely the easiest dynamic in the world. They are often affected by petty slights, gossip, and power dynamics, and on top of that, you still have to be civil enough to everybody to keep your job. It means that there are a lot of employees out there who are putting up with subpar treatment from their colleagues.

On the positive side, this makes it all the sweeter when you have the opportunity to take an obnoxious coworker down a peg without doing anything that might get you a meeting with HR. This happened with one Redditor who was fed up with his colleague refusing to communicate with him as he did the female staff members. When this entitled man insisted that OP could only message him in the group chat while he happily took private messages from the women, his demand quickly backfired on him. It wasn't as foolproof a plan as he had thought.
