Woman Hires Friend as ‘Therapist’ to Fix Her Boyfriend Despite Not Being Qualified, He Finds Out, Breaking Their Foundational Trust
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. This is a piece of work. It's always jarring to find out something unexpected from someone you've known for years, something hurtful that represents betrayal. It's especially hurtful when it's your partner, the person you sleep next to every night and share life with. Trust isn't a given, it has to be built and maintained over time. Once it's foundations sunders, it can be nearly impossible to put back together.
In this Reddit thread, the original poster (OP) is a man in a six year relationship. He thought he was happy, until things took a turn for the worse. His girlfriend suggests couples therapy, but over time, he just feels like something's off. Lo and behold, he finds out at a party that the 'therapist' isn't a therapist at all, and is actually just a friend of his girlfriend. I couldn't imagine the betrayal.
