In all fairness, it's a very reasonable question. We show love the way we want to receive love, so it would make sense that if your dog licks you, it would want to be licked back….but at the same time, not at all. We think our dog is fine with all the kisses we give her. No tongue necessary.

It doesn't sound very sanitary, but then again, we let our dogs lick our faces, so that also isn't sanitary. We're not medical experts, so we'll leave you to make your own decisions, but we tend to agree with ER vets.
