‘He's family to me now’: Kindhearted neighbor saves a golden retriever when the couple next door abandons it in the yard on moving day, when they come to reclaim the dog 6 months later, she refuses

The bond between a hooman and their dog is unbreakable. So when this woman was told to give her dog back to their abusive owners, she stood her ground and protected her pooch. 

After observing the extensive moving process of the couple next door, the woman in our next story was shocked when she realized that her neglectful neighbors left behind a paw-ticularly precious piece of cargo: Their sweet golden retriever, Buddy. 

The woman discovered Buddy chained up in the backyard with nothing but a dog food bag and a big bowl of water to sustain him. Because the neighbors made it clear they didn't intend to return to this house to get their dog, the kindhearted lady brought home the beloved pooch and he became a part of her family. Months later though, the couple came back to reclaim the dog, thinking that after abandoning him and leaving him in the dust they still had a right to steal him back… But they messed with the wrong next-door neighbor.

    [deleted] OP There are witnesses to the abandonment. Our neighborhood likes to gossip, and everyone pretty much knew Buddy had been abandoned within 48 hrs, and my other immediate neighbors have seen him in that situation too. So there is no chance the ex neighbor will be escalating.
