Breaks are not only important to the self but to productivity. There are countless studies that show breaks are essential for productive work. They give you a chance to energize recharge and return to your work renewed. That's why systems like the Pomodoro technique are so popular… they work. You buckle down for 25 minutes, then you get a 5-minute break. Rinse and repeat and take 30 after 4 Pomodoros. It's amazing how fast the work will fly by. It's easier to do a job when you know you have a break scheduled. We humans need little treats in order to keep going, and lunch is one of them.
