On March 14, Bob and Nancy Strait were the victims of a brutal home invasion; Bob, 90, was shot in the face and brutally beaten, and remains in serious condition. His wife, Nancy, 85, was battered and sexually assaulted, and died of her injuries.
The couple met on a blind date after Bob finished serving in World War II. They married a month later, and their romance lasted 65 years. "Dad never talked, and Mama never quit talking," their daughter Lanora said.
The Straits' attack has gotten little play in the mainstream media, but now comedy group RangerUpVideo is asking in a heartfelt video that Americans -- and Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert -- help publicize the case, and make sure justice is served. Police have arrested 20-year-old Tyrone Dale David Woodfork on a first-degree murder charge, but police believe three or four other assailants were involved.
"This investigation is far from over," said Officer Jason Willingham, of the Tulsa police department. "We've still got a lot of questions that we still need answered."
