In many places, it is now officially the time of the year when we can declare it to be soup season. Do people like soup because it's liquid food, or because it provides an excuse to eat half a loaf of bread with it? Perhaps we'll never know. Anyway, there is no denying that this meal is the king of sustenance for when you're claiming that you're not that hungry. In a similar sense, a list of random memes is the perfect stopgap for when you're telling yourself you are absolutely, definitely going to put your phone down and be productive in the next five minutes, but you just need a little more screen time to tide yourself over. It is enough to give you that humorous boost without feeling too guilty that you've been doing too much of the wrong thing. That is, until you make the decision to scroll even further.
