Neighbor instantly shamed by me and other neighbors for unnecessarily honking at me
  • 03
So I have a neighbor who is just kind of toxic. She's kind of a princess and owns a personal trainer business. She's usually
  • 04
nice to me in person but regularly fights with others. Anywho, yesterday, I was turning out of my neighborhood.
  • 05
It was in the evening so it's unlikely anyone was in a rush to get to work or a doctor's appointment or something. I was on my way to hang out with friends. I never turn right
  • 06
on red at this particular intersection because I can't see around the corner and people drive like maniacs here, there's usually a kid on an ebike
  • 07
that blasts through, and I was almost hit last time I tried turing on red, so I just wait until the light is green because it's safer.
  • 08
Anyway, this neighbor comes up behind me and HONKS at me while the light was still red, and furiously motioned for me
  • 09
to go. I looked behind me and shook my head "no" and this set her off, and she started yelling at me.
  • 10
Luckily, just as she was doing this, two other neighbors passed by on foot. I stuck my head out the window and was like "hey can you make her stop honking at me?"
  • 11
They had already seen everything and she'd been ride to them in the past and they were happy to oblige. One taunted her with a waggle
  • 12
and the other was like "where's the fire?" It was more playful, which made her rage look even more pathetic. When the light turned green, I even waited just a second longer to mess with her and then we drove off.
  • 13
She was so embarrassed that she drove a safe distance behind me, even as I was slowing down to see if she would pass me. This story isn't as dramatic as others but it was fun nonetheless.

Edit: Just to be clear, this is right outside of my small townhome community, where only neighbors and delivery
  • 15
people drive, in the evening, not during rush hour, and she had JUST pulled up behind me. The intersection we drive into from the townhome community is busy. Yes. I usually turn right on red,
  • 16
especially during commutes. I do not here because I can't see the cars coming on my left side until they are very close, and they tend to speed, and as I
  • 17
mentioned, I almost had a bad accident because I risked it before.

delulu... 19h ago. Honk and you shall receive (a waggle)

ugotm... • 20h ago. Fun, great that your other neighbors played along.

mailla... 18h ago • Years ago I had left the house to go to work. There were two stop signs in the neighborhood before
  • 21
getting to the intersection with the light. At one of the stop signs, the person behind me honked at me for stopping at the sign.
  • 22
Like not a pause to roll through or a slow-down pass through. It was not a long stop, just a break and then go.
  • 23
She then spent the time waiting for the red light to turn at the lighted intersection scolding me from behind her wheel (I assume as
  • 24
much as it looked like she was yelling and wagging her finger at me a lot). I waved back at her and it ped her off so much more, it was honestly very funny.
