'It's the cat's trash': Funniest Items People Have Kept around Their Houses for Furrever Because They Are Actually Their Cat’s

If you walk into a cat owner's home, so not be surprised by the things that you see. Expect the unexpected. You see an empty shelf? That's not for no reason. That's because cats love knocking things off shelves, and this one has knocked down one too many things. If you see a random box in their living room? That's because cats love boxes. If you see a hairband thrown on the floor? Don't tell us, we know it's there. Our cats like playing with random things instead of their designated toys. 

These things are not trash, no matter how much they make look like it. These random things are not in random places. They are where the kitty has put them. Because this trash is actually the cat's trash, and it will remain there, and you will not dare touch it, until the kitties say otherwise.     Fen Eatough We have one corner of our living room that is piled up with the brown packing paper from various Amazon packages. The cats treat it like a ball pit... they'll come tearing around the corner into the room and leap into the middle of the pile, completely disappearing into the paper, then they'll rustle around in it for a bit before darting out of the room to come back in and do it again.     Amazon delivery day is not fun just for us. It is equally fun for our cat. So much packaging. So much stuff to make a mess out of. And we're not even mad. Because we get it. If we were our cats, we would be doing the same exact thing.

    Oh, yeah, we think that we can all relate to this one. We don't even attempt to throw out boxes anymore. We first call our cats, the cats inspect the box, and if the box is deemed worthy, then it stays. There is no question about it. We're going to pile up these boxes as long as we have cats - because it makes them happy, and them being happy makes us happy.

    Glenn Geisler A coffee table I inherited from my grandparents. At one time it was a rather unique and beautiful table, but then it got water damaged in a flood. I kept it for a while just because I didn't have anything to replace it with, but then my cat started using it as a scratching post (when she wouldn't use anything else, including numerous store bought scratchers). She then gets bunches of rubs/pets. <She was sick for a while and I had to monitor her weight - using the box was the only way to get her weight.     Jana Morrison The outside faux fur skin of a toy mouse. The plastic form that it used to cover and the rattle that used to be inside it are long gone, but one of our cats has always loved that toy mouse, even now that it's just a scrap of fabric. She'll chase and fetch it over and over. I cannot find any replacement that she will accept.
