We're entering one of the most prolific times of the year for mommy Facebook group posting. You might think that August and September are the most chaotic months for clueless parents asking their local community, "When is the first day of school?" instead of checking their emails or googling it, but I'd disagree. Back to school is when mom Facebook groups have the most annoying and useless practical questions, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are when you can deep dive into the drama of their personal family dynamics. Any day now, you'll start regularly seeing posters asking, "Is my 7-year-old too young to get an iPhone for Christmas?" or "How do you tell your mother-in-law that her Turkey is dry and rancid without offending her?" or "Why do the holidays always fill me with a sense of dread comparable to the dread I feel before a 10-hour flight?" If you want to stick your nose into anonymous people's business, these parenting posts are for you.

    Anonymous member 2h ⑧ I'm looking to find a place who will perform a newborn circumcision without the Vitamin K vaccine. Posting to see if anyone was actually able to get the procedure done without giving Vit K? The only luck I've found so far is having a Rabbi perform the procedure, is this the route you did if you did not give Vitamin K?

    < Just need to rant!!! On a walk with my daughter today and it was a great time. Until, my across the street neighbor (who I have NEVER MET BEFORE) saw me walking with my baby and approached us to say hello. She is older, in her mid to late 60s. I stopped to be friendly and she was excited to see my daughter.     Edited to add. There is a contract and he signed over rights. He was just a donor, which he has done before but to a bank. And we did at home insemination. I know yall think horrible of me and I completely understand. But this a kind of a messed up situation all the way around.     I need help, like seriously at my wits end here. My son is 2, he just loves to break things, throw things off counter, be fast about it, he breaks cups, candles, etc, throws drinks off counter, hits his newborn cousin, throws things at you, and no matter what we do or how we disciple it won't stop, it's come to a point where I don't wanna be home with him, I just take him out all the time, I hate being home with him. What can I do? How can I get him to stop these behaviors? No matter what we do

    This might sound horrible but break something of his everytime he breaks something in the house and make him earn the things you broke back. He doesn't understand the concept of how hurtful it is to ruin something that's not his and that will show him. I fully agree with gentle parenting but some kids need more than that and it might be a case with him. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that and it must be so hard but you're doing great asking for help is the best thing you could do!!!!

    What I've done when I catch my son about to break things is make a loud sound that'll Startle him (personally I just say NO pretty loud) everytime he's tried to do something like that and now he hardly ever does it unless it's genuinely an accident, and as he's learned to not throw them and stuff I've given him more freedom with objects. For example he lovesss to hand me my coffee but my coffee is always In a. Glass mason jar and there's been several times where he's dropped it or tried to drink

    Well, my form of discipline is frowned upon I call dad in when it gets outta hand and the kiddo straightens up immediately. We do time outs in his room. Lights on, tv on, and toys out to play with so it's not cruel or anything but I still feel bad. My kiddo constantly makes messes with flour, diaper cream, etc. it's irritating for sure. But one day I won't have anyone to clean up after and as shocking as it may sound, I think I'll miss it.

    Please forgive me if this sounds stupid. This is my first child in college. She's a freshman. We are having issues with "independence." She says that she's 18 and wants to make all decisions. We are supposedly being controlling. This past week, her boyfriend was visiting with a friend. They stayed at an air bnb. We told her not to stay there the night. She said she was going to do it anyways because she makes her own decisions. We are Latin and Catholic. For us, that is a big no no. Do you all j

    op contributor I'm struggling with this too, even though it's my third go around. My philosophy is I don't make choices for her anymore, but I do make choices for my house. So, she stays at his house, but he can't stay at mine. I wish his mom had the same rule (or ANY rule), but the truth is when they're at the dorms, we have no idea what they're doing. We can teach them our morals and hopes, but this is their time to figure out their own. And I never ever hold payments over their heads. 2h Like
