Galadriel's love language is gift-giving. Unlike a lot of the elves, Galadriel understood the power of sharing, whether you're sharing weird water-pitcher prophecies or 3 strands of your perfect golden hair, a gift can mean a lot to the one who receives it.
Elven folk, apart from Big G, aren't the most generous of races in LOTR. In fact, I'd even argue that they're the ultimate gatekeepers. Guarding their mining secrets and smithing techniques from the rest of the world just to remain superior in the Light of Lorien–they're the mean girls of Middle Earth. Granted, perhaps this is what made them wiser and fairer than all the rest because if the ethereal tech got into Mordor, who knows what Sauron would get up to… You know who knows? Galadriel.
So if you're sometimes a gift-giver and sometimes a gatekeeper, that's okay. Use your best judgment to own it in each case, because not all of us are as fair as Lady Galadriel, but we can all aspire to be as wise.
