Sleeping: seemingly the most natural and innocent of life's events - even villains must sleep occasionally. However, in a domestic context, sleeping has become somewhat of a bone of contention. Family life can be greatly affected by each member's unique sleeping habits: Sometimes the teenage child annoys us with his tendency to sleep only to generate energy to go back to sleep after his cereals. Other times it's our partner, whose snoring soars right through the Netflix intro, even though you specifically scheduled date night at home. It could be our toddlers who redefine the sleeping hours of diurnal creatures, or us, scrolling back and forth through TikTok, ignoring our stinging eyes.

Animals, however, are still given the prerogative to sleep whenever. They don't care if you have another hour to sleep when they need to go outside, and if they want to stroll around the house at night and make noise, they can. Being owned has its advantages.
