Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by the 'family-friendly' movies of the 80s! If you're Gen X, you probably raised both hands. Think of all of the movies that triggered our tragic personalities. While Millennials and Boomers bicker over the worse-off generation, consider that we were the ones who were children when we watched a horse sink into the mud in Neverending Story. We were the ones who grew up thinking Old Yeller was wholesome.

No wonder we all became nihilists!

Luckily, what we got out of these tragically traumatizing movies was an amazingly dark sense of humor that's allowed us to enjoy becoming the forgotten generation. Happily self-sufficient and relying only on ourselves, Gen Xers have adapted to be the most versatile generation–having enjoyed a childhood free of cell phones while also an adulthood full of epic tech!
