It's hard not to have racing thoughts these days. There is so much constantly going on in our lives that when we lay ourselves down for bed, the mind tends to keep spinning its hamster wheel. We mull over everything that's on our to-do list, everything that was said to us that day, what we're going to do tomorrow, how we're going to solve that problem that's hanging over our heads.
One good way to ameliorate this is to read a book in bed. Books have a way of narrowing our focus and give us someone else's problems to think about instead of our own. Another good way to combat this is with a calming cup of tea. The ritual of boiling the water, selecting your sachet, and waiting for it to steep is great for calming the nervous system. Another way is memes. Memes don't ask anything of you other than to giggle.
