"No thanks, enjoy the view of the leaves" ☐
  • 02
You want me to cut down my trees? No thanks, enjoy the view of the leaves.

Our older neighbor sold his home to a middle-aged couple. Within the first day they managed to p's everyone off (for context-they left a boat trailer in a dangerous spot in the road despite warnings from
  • 04
neighbors and having two driveways and a spot where a trailer could go, left one dog outside all night to bark at every new thing for a month, let their other dog prop on everyone's front lawns, and let it chase after people in their own yards, etc).
  • 05
After thoroughly pi ing everyone off, they decided to ask us to cut down all the trees/bushes along our fence line because the trees were blocking their view. They live at the bottom of a hill. The only view they
  • 06
have is the rest of the hill and other peoples houses. When we told them no, they asked us if we could at least trim the branches down more so they could see through them, and then walked away.
  • 07
We haven't trimmed a single thing in months. Theres no power lines to worry about in the area either, and everything is within our fence line. We even let the area beside the patio grow up some so they
  • 08
absolutely no view besides leaves. We actually like it better, because it saves us the cost of a privacy fence we were planning to install.
  • 09
Be a ck as soon as you move in and expect people to cater to your needs? Nah. Enjoy nice view of leaves from your back porch.
  • 10
ETA: we have cameras and we were regularly trimming them before they asked us to cut the trees.

Smokey Katt ⚫ 16h ago • Get up cameras, they are probably planning on cutting your trees.
  • 12
tiredofthebs23 OP • 16h ago • We do have cameras, but I highly doubt they're planning on doing anything since it's been a several months. They've also already had the cops called on them three times by other neighbors, so they're minding their business.

MarathonRabbit69 • 16h ago • It's nice when petty revenge involve doing nothing at all. Though TBH, I would trap their dog on my property then call animal control to come pick it up. I get the feeling these folks probably do not tag their pets either.

tiredofthebs23 OP⚫ 16h ago I think the third cop visit was about that dog. We haven't seen it off a leash since, but you can tell it wants to chase after people.

Academic_Exit1268 • 16h ago Get a no trespassing, restraining order and put signs in your trees making sure no arborist will touch them. I might send letters to local arborists notifying them of a potential legal problem if they set foot on your land.

tiredofthebs23 OP • 16h ago • We have no trespassing and beware of dogs signs up on both sides of our house (we have two large dogs) and cameras watching our property. They know we have them, so I suspect that a factor in them not retaliating.

Coder Joe1 14h ago • So your vengeance is doing... nothing? Brilliant!

Skatjie 15h ago • When new neighbours arrived below us, they asked if we could cut our trees... First thing. We hadn't even met them yet. All because the leaves fell...
  • 20
tiredofthebs23 OP • 14h ago • It's the same situation here. The first full conversation we've ever had with them was this.
  • 21
TriceratopBae 15h ago • You all act like it sooo easy to get a restraining order. If OP goes down to the court house or police station, they'll be laughed outta there so fast. There is zero evidence that anything happened. There's zero evidence that
  • 22
they're planning on doing anything and zero evidence of a threat. There is literally nothing in this situation that would warrant a restraining order being granted.
  • 23
tiredofthebs23 OP • 14h ago • Exactly- we're no where near RO level and I highly doubt we'll ever be. Other neighbors have already called the cops multiple times on them for different reasons. They're not going to be doing anything anytime soon.
  • 24
Balanced-Breakfast ⚫ 11h ago • Be careful about the "beware of dogs" sign. It implies that you know your dogs are a threat and you may be liable if a trespasser is attacked. Opt for something like "dogs present" or something.
  • 25
tiredofthebs23 OP 10h ago We have to have that sign because of the type of dogs they are (Shepard- mixes). They're well trained, but we still have to have the signs.
