Man Crushed After Girlfriend Suggests an Open Relationship, Signaling Red Flags to Him and Cue to Leave
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Oh, the infamous debate about infidelity and open relationships. It's more and more common these days for one or both partners to ask for an open relationship. It works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. In my opinion, it's usually an indicator of something else going on that isn't related to the status of the relationship or opening it up to a third party. To me, it usually means someone is unhappy, they're not getting their needs met either physically, emotionally, or both. Suggesting an open relationship to your partner could be a red flag. It could mean that the person either has someone in mind already, or wants to shop around while they still have the comfort and safety of their partner.
This brings us to the Reddit thread. In this story, it follows a man (OP) and his two year relationship. After two years of dating, his girlfriend tells him that she wants to make it open. He's shocked and taken aback, but you'll have to read the full story below.
