Woman causes controversy complaining about male food delivery drivers who deliver under female profiles: 'If you are so worried about people knowing your address, then pick up your own food'

Food delivery apps have been a controversial social media topic for some time now, and it doesn't take much for the discourse surrounding them to heat up again. There is nothing like the price that is paid for such luxuries to get many feeling emotional. 

This week's episode has come in the form of fake identity, and how that might represent a danger to the customer. One woman complained about expecting a female delivery driver who turned out to be a man, and it started up a whole argument about whether she was entitled to be a self-described 'Karen' and report the account. 

On the one hand, some people sympathized with how such practices going unnoticed by delivery apps could be dangerous. On the other, there were those who pointed out that there could be a number of different reasons for this, and even that this was not the right discussion to be having. It's all frustrating, but at least it isn't tipping discourse.

I've had to call the police to a location due to a rider becoming aggressive with a female member of my team. Problem is these companies don't care, as people working illegally is vital to their business model.

    @amor_y_flor -1d Replying to @carbdiem A lot of the places I dropped food off at were sketchy asl so I started taking my bf with me and he would physically drop things off while I drove the car. I didn't even think of this bc im worried ab *my* safety but now I know, and it can be spooky for others too.
