It's soul crushing and eye-opening. It seems like no matter how good you are at your job or how much you love what you do, the company will side with money over employees. Take TikToker @carolandcarol—she recently got laid off with Christmas right around the corner. She even shares the heartbreaking video of the exact moment she gets fired over a video call.
You can't see the people firing her, you just hear voices that sound almost robotic, definitely rehearsed. "Please know that your employer will always value their bottom line over your dignity. I loved this job. I am so so sad," she wrote as the caption to her video. You can see tears streaming down her face as she is hit with the news. She doesn't let them just yap on by like she was something so easy to throw away. She makes sure to call them out at the end, even calling them "callous."
