A family member wakes up wearily and shuffles to the banister to see what all the commotion is about. Expecting to see something magical like Santa or an elf bringing presents. Only to find that the family cat has had a freak out, jumped into the Xmas tree and ended up fully tangled in the fair lights in the tree.

This could serve as the opening scene of the movie, the cats watch over their pawrent's store while everyone is enjoying their Christmas dinners. Suddenly, a heavy set man falls through the ceiling, causing the cats to come crashing down as well. They prepawed to fight and pawtect their store, only to realize that the man was in fact Santa.
