'Please don't feel bad… HE got HIMSELF fired': Security guard tricks holiday seasonal employee into giving him her number, woman then 'unintentionally' gets him fired

Nowadays, many people need to have a side gig in order to stay afloat, especially during the holidays. With all the gifts you have to get your loved ones, it's imperative to have a little extra cash on hand. So, getting a seasonal job on top of a full-time job is the reg now. That being said, it's not that easy to just hop onto a seasonal gig if you have no experience or live somewhere where everyone else and their mom is also applying for that seasonal position. However, when you get one, you hold on to it—well, at least for the season. The holiday season is a great time to grab this gig, because many shops are looking for extra hands. 

So when this woman snagged a holiday seasonal gig, she didn't want to let it go. She was even willing to put up with the creepy security guard…

    It all started when the security guard said he needed her number for “security reasons.” First of all, no, they do not need you number for any reason. Then, he started texting her, and the texts started to get unprofessional. She kept responding by being very clear that she was not interested in him. She was willing to keep that up until he just left her alone. However, she mentioned how the security guard made her uncomfortable to her coworker and her coworker was not having it. Apparently, this employee has had a history before… So guess what? He got fired. 

     

    Now she is feeling guilty for getting this man fired, but the internet is making sure she knows she did the right thing.

    I unintentionally got someone fired So I took a part time job seasonally a few months ago. One of the security guards first asked for my number "for security purposes" and I didn't think anything of it at first so I gave it to him. About a month later I left my lunch box at work and since I work full time in addition I wasn't going to be back to work for a few more days.

    The next day I went to work I was in close proximity with him and felt uncomfortable since it was just the two of us in the office while my other co-worker took lunch. Once the other co-worker came back I mentioned being glad that they were back because I felt uncomfortable and he asked and the second I mentioned he was trying to hit on me, he immediately got up and told a manager because he said it was been an issue before.     the co-worker and tried to limit my interactions with him as much as possible as the managers asked me to tell them what happened and they also spoke with him as well. Last Friday they fired him and I found out on Sunday. I know I didn't do anything intentionally to cause this but I feel bad for even mentioning what happened and causing him to get fired.

    firemaiden79 You didn't cause him to get fired, his actions did. If they fired him then they know and have seen how bad he can get when it comes to harassing people in the work place. Don't feel bad that he got fired he knew what he was doing was wrong but did it anyway.

    Brief Buddy_7848 Pleeease don't feel bad for him, you didn't get him fired, HE got HIMSELF fired. Who knows who else he would have preyed upon if you hadn't said anything, his next target might have been someone way more naive and vulnerable.

    Old_Life1980 If he could possibly find out that you were the reason (or just the last straw) he got fired, please make sure that you're safe. He has your phone number, and with that he could find out a lot more information about you. I'm not trying to scare you, but I also watch entirely too much Dateline and see what happens when a man is rebuffed and then fired as a result of his poor choices.

    Slow_Balance270 I was a lead for a cleaning company for awhile and found out one of the janitors was harassing women so badly that they were refusing to come in to work. If I had known about it I would have fired him myself and I lack that authority.

    Lopsided_Tomatillo27 This isn't your fault. He has a habit of making women uncomfortable at work. This was his last chance and he blew it. If it wasn't you it would have been someone else. But he still would have gotten himself fired. It's his fault for making you uncomfortable, not your fault for being uncomfortable.
