24 Giggle-Inducing Lord of the Rings Memes to Turn Any Gollum Back into Smeagol (January 9, 2024)

It's award season again, which means folks are lining up to watch the Hollywood elites curtly smile at one another as they self-proclaim superiority over each other's work. Any award–like a Golden Globe or an Oscar–is just the entertainment industry's equivalent of a kindergarten gold star, as the classroom's best students pat themselves on the back for another year. 

And don't get me wrong, I like movies and TV, but there's only one saga that deserves every bit of the award show accolades: Lord of the Rings. The LOTR trilogy was nominated 30 times for different Oscar categories and won 17 awards in total. That's insane. Is there any other franchise that can come close? Nope. And even now, almost 25 years later (oof, it hurts to say that), Lord of the Rings holds up as one of the best movie-watching experiences… Ever.

  • So while new-aged pop-culture know-it-alls tune in for the next big award show, just know that the real fans will be down in their basements, flipping on their home theaters and turning on their favorite epic fantasy story. We can't resist a perfectly portrayed hero's tale about a couple of bros walking barefoot to an evil volcano, aptly called Mount Doom, to destroy the one true source of evil power. Nothing beats that. 

    Because once again (and as always), Lord of the Rings wins the award for best of the best and it is completely unmatched. Good luck with your next one, Hollywood, checkmate.
