How can you not like squirrels? You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't smile at the sight of a little squirrel scampering around with an acorn in its mouth. When I was in college, there was even an actual squirrel club. Yes, a legitimate student organization where students, alumni, and even community members got together every Sunday during the fall and winter semesters to—wait for it—feed squirrels. And the best part was that proceeds from their adorable squirrel-themed t-shirts went straight into funding premium peanut snacks for their furry friends. I most definitely purchased a few of those. 

These meetings weren't just casual Sunday strolls, either. Squirrel feeding techniques had been perfected and passed down like ancient wisdom. Honestly, that's a hobby I can get behind. Especially now, when it's cold, and most of us are huddled indoors trying to avoid the freezing wind. While we sip our hot cocoa and scroll endlessly on our phones, squirrels are out there, living their best chunky winter lives—fluffy tails, full cheeks, and zero shame about begging for snacks.
