‘She got defensive because she didn’t remember I had an allergy’: Careless cousin’s canine child causes family feud over an allergic reaction, causing disastrous doggo drama

Allergic reactions are serious business. They are the Achilles heel of many a hooman and while someone might be particularly fond of the thing that they are severely allergic to, they must stay far away from that thing if they decide that they would like to see the light of another day. And one such example of that is this story of a woman, who while being a dog lover, is cursed by the inability to be anywhere near them without breaking out into a severe allergic reaction. 

She was put in an impossible position that meant she was unable to remain at the family event she was attending and had to leave her husband behind to get herself to safety. A more movie worth tale hath hardly ever been told. So strap in and get your reading glasses on, because this is not one of the stories you want to read with squinted eyes.

  • Wow this is is a tough one and truly highlights the complexity of making things work within a wider family unit. You can definitely understand this woman’s frustration at being totally disrespected, after all, an allergic reaction that strong is simply no fun to endure. But on the other hand, leaving in such dramatic fashion, leaving your husband behind is also a little heavy to put on the whole family.

    As the commenters comment below, there were probably some better solutions to the problem, but who knows if it was even possible to figure something out under such stress.

  • As this commenter says, even if you had all the Benadryl in the world, it would not necessarily help or stop an allergic reaction. In all likelihood a combination of what they have suggested along with what some of the other commenters have said about putting the doggo outside or in a different room could have been the best solution.
