It's so hard not to spoil your dog at dinnertime. They're right there—all. the. time.—with those big, pleading puppy eyes. You know that if you give in even once, they'll remember it for the rest of their lives. One bite of cheese now means a lifetime of begging at every meal. But, on the other hand… they're just so darn cute. 

My mom is the worst at this. All her granddogs know she's an easy target when food is involved. Growing up, we had three beagles who were all brothers from the same litter. You can imagine the chaos in my household. But my mom didn't just spoil them… she took it up a notch. Every Sunday, she'd cook them breakfast. Yes, every Sunday. She didn't even do that for my siblings and me. But the pups just had to have their kibble topped with scrambled eggs, some kind of cooked meat, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
