One of my all time favorite bands since when I was a young girl, The Cure. I had the biggest crush on Robert Smith, with his depressed eyes, his pallor complexion, and his huge, messy, black hair stringing down in his face. From their boisterous pop-ish songs, to their more depressive ones, Smith's voice carries us on a melancholic cloud to his underworld.

I hate to admit it, but I still listen to the same 80s music I've listened to for 20 years. I just can't get enough of the experimental sounds, the technological beeps and buttons, and the alternative structure of the songs that are immortalized in this funky and free decade. The 80s are something else. Sometimes I wish I had been born at a time when I could rock out at clubs to these songs, and get my hair wild and frazzled while wearing a leotard. But, alas.

20 Goth Girl Memes for Women Whose Nightly Rituals Include Candelabras and Macabre
Hey there goth girl. We know, we know – the world doesn't get you, no one understands your need for Dracula films, black nail polish, and listening to The Cure on repeat. No one understands you except…everyone else who's goth. Though the goth subculture has evolved immensely from its mid 11th century origins in architecture, sculpture, and art, there are still some nuanced similarities. Gothic art is quintessential to the Medieval era. Easily identifiable landmarks of gothic architecture include pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and cylindrical columns, while gothic paintings were naturalist in essence. And we're all familiar with famous and deceased gothic writers – Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelly, and Fyodor Dostoyevsky to name a few.
Outside of its origins of stylistic carvings, buildings, writings, and paintings, nowadays goths are the shadowed souls lurking in corners, crevices, and concealed by a lace veil. They like black, a lot, they like being moody while listening to darkwave, 80s alternative, or other gothic genres, and they have a strange obsession with the strange, unusual, and vampiric. So if you're someone who identifies as goth, scroll through these goth memes to feel alive in your own goth way.
