Kind Couple Invite a Wild Raccoon Inside, Rescuing Him From a Subfreezing Canadian Winter By Providing a Safe Haven in Their Garage: ‘Oooooh this place is niiiiiice!’

If you're cold, they're cold—bring them inside. 

Winters are getting harsher every year. Biting winds, icy driveways, and incoming polar vortexes are enough to make us hoomans cower indoors. But for the wild animals that live in the woodlands around our warm n' cozy fortresses, the harsher winters just mean it's becoming more difficult to survive outside—even if you're a furry critter designed for the cold. 

The raccoon in this next story seemed to be perfectly equipped for the outside world, however, his fluffy coat and dexterous little hands became no match for the unforgiving winter nights in this iced-over Canadian town. With record-breaking lows and a shivering critter on their doorstep, this kind couple felt they had no choice but to attempt a risky rescue of this near-frozen raccoon.

  • Okay, everyone, it's a long-awaited raccoon update. We kept him for a week and he was doing just fine. But we didn't feel we had the safest spot for him. So we got in contact with a local wildlife rehabber who came and got him.
