Dog ears are some of the most expressive body parts in the history of body parts. Sure, their tails also betray some truths, but the ears are where it's at. The slightest raise of an ear shows interest or curiosity. A downturned ear might mean embarrassment or sadness. And a long, floppy ear turned inside out, well that's pure style and flair. Whenever one of my dog's ears would flip inside out, my mom would call it his "signature look," since he looked sort of like a gentleman with an askew fedora. Very dapper, very cool.

Human ears do not have the same ability to express. Our ears barely do anything interesting, except hear noises and hold our earrings. Some people can wiggle their ears, but that's only a party trick. No, we have to rely on the complex system of our facial muscles in order to show the world what we're feeling. That and memes.

Humans also use memes to communicate with one another. We send them in order to foster friendships. We show them to each other in hopes of generating a connection. And we use them to put faces to our feelings. Sometimes those faces are dog faces. Like in this list below…
