‘We just thought she was fat’: Pet pawrent adopts female rescue doggo, she brings her surprise stash of nine puppies soon after

Happy Tuesday, folks. One of the many miracles that happen in this wholesome world is the miracle of birth. Sure, we know how it works, but do we really know how it works? Science can explain it, but we just can't wrap our heads around the fact that females of all species (except seahorses) can physically make children in their own bodies. It's nothing short of miraculous. Now, kids are a lot, even when you're expecting them. But when you're not pawfectly prepawed for them, they are even more of a challenge.

Imagine adopting a sweet rescue doggo that's just a little bit of a chunker. Why not? She's probably had a tough life, let her be a little chonky, right? A wholesome pet pawrent adopted her and brought her to her furever home….but the doggo had a secret surprise for her. Turns out she was also bringing a whole fuzzy family with her (in her belly)!   • We love dogs. We love puppies even more. However, that doesn't mean that we wouldn't feel the slightest bit overwhelmed if we expected one dog and ended up with ten. That's enough to make even the most enthusiastic animal lover sweat a little bit. Well, nothing to do except work with what you've got, so….anyone want some puppies?

    Leathermoss To everyone concerned about mastitis, thank y'all! She is clear, her body is just producing mass amounts of milk. I am also feeding her ungodly amounts of boiled chicken, high protein canned food and Taste of the Wild kibble. She is taken care of-HAVE NO FEAR! They have a heating blanket and indoors. ADOPTION HAS BEEN A WILD RIDE.

  • At the very least, we're happy the momma dog was able to give birth in a safe place and all the puppies are able to be taken care of. That's not something we can say for a lot of rescue dogs. Go out and adopt, everyone, there are lots of doggos that need good homes!

    randyranderson123 How did you not know she was pregnant? Was the dog from a center or a friend? You didn't notice the swollen ? Was it impregnated immediately before adoption? Gestation for a dog is 63 days. How long did you know about it before she gave birth? I am curios about so many details
