Early-morning airplane passenger tries to get entire row of seats to herself: 'You’re never obligated to move'

We all have those awkward interactions that we think about for a long time after. Sometimes, they're big conversations, but oftentimes, it's just little moments of weirdness that stick in your head. They're the moments that you think about while in the shower, wondering if you were weird while talking with someone at the last family gathering or friend meetup. Or you'll be trying to get some sleep at night, but you can't stop pondering if your crush remembers something embarrassing you told them. Chances are no one remembers these little moments except for you. But you never know for certain, and that keeps you pondering that specific moment in the back of your head. 

This traveller had one of those moments last time they stepped foot on a plane. They were in the enviable position of having open seats next to them on the flight. When you board the plane, you take your seat and then watch the long line of other passengers as they walk past, just waiting for one or two people to plop down next to you. So when you finally watch everyone take their seats and the flight attendant shuts the door, you get that feeling of elation as you realize you have an extra seat next to you to spread out. This person acted rather oddly about it, but as commenters reassured them, it's really okay, and the other passenger probably won't remember the incident, either. 

Next, this grocery store boss had a "mess around and find out" moment with an employee who suddenly gave him a 2-day quitting notice: "[He] couldn't understand why."

    Boarded a flight between SFO and PHX. Very early flight on AA. I'm in boarding group 4, so I boarded early. I'm in 11C.

    5 minutes later, a young woman told me she's in 11A. I stood up and allow the woman to get to her seat. After 5-6 minutes, she told me that if the flight is empty, I can move to other seats so both of us can have the entire row.

    She didn't say anything anymore for the reminder of the flight EDIT: I saw some of the post - and will add additional context. The interaction happened when the plane is still boarding. After she sat down, she was looking at seats around us and saw that there's at least passengers in it. There were open rows in the back (close to the restroom).     YMMV25 You're never obligated to move. That said, if there were empty rows available I'd be in one of them the moment the boarding door closed.

Just a normal interaction between two human beings lol Prob she was too lazy to move and made the suggestion so you both could be more comfortable. Since you didn't want to change maybe she didn't think it was worthy to change seats too. Don't overthink

    defroach84 If the plane was done boarding, and there are a bunch of empty rows, she could have moved. She could ask you to move, but that sorta makes her the a hole IMO. Also, she should never ask this if the plane was not done boarding either.

    SoullessGinger666 I mean, if there's multiple empty rows and you didn't move thats pretty socially weird. But equally she should've just moved herself if she wanted a row on her own. Bit cheeky of her to ask, bit weird of you not to move (only if there were other empty rows. If no empty rows then you're fine)
