  • I'm a 23-year-old woman, and I work at an agency inside a driving school. The workplace is a family-owned business, and many of the employees are relatives.
  • One of my coworkers is a 50- year-old woman who has an 11- year-old daughter. This child frequently comes to her mother's workplace and has already caused several problems, such as
  • messing with other people's belongings and even stealing small items and food. Even when there is clear evidence that she took things that weren't hers, her mother does nothing about it.

  • Working from home instead of bringing your home to work would work for everyone

  • It's important to mention that this child is not related to my bosses. She is the daughter of a coworker who holds the same position as I do. My bosses are really annoyed
  • by her behavior, but so far, they haven't taken any action against the mother. That being said, the child has already disrespected everyone here, including my bosses.

  • Until recently, she hadn't personally affected me, but last Saturday, that changed. I brought my bag to work, and inside it, I had my everyday makeup products. At some point, this child asked me if I had brought makeup, but to avoid her asking to use it (which I find unhygienic), I chose not to answer.
  • I left my bag under an internal counter instead of in the office where I usually keep it because I was afraid she would enter the office and go through my stuff. However, the counter wasn't in
  • my direct line of sight, and at some point, she took my makeup and used it. I didn't notice it at the time because I didn't wear makeup that weekend, but later, my coworkers mentioned that she had been wearing makeup that day.

  • Now, I want to make sure this doesn't happen again. I've thought about a few ways to teach her a lesson without causing any permanent harm, but
  • I'd like to hear your suggestions. How would you handle a situation like this? Is there an effective way to stop her from touching my stuff again? I appreciate any advice!

  • Striking-Kiwi-9470 Ask her if she used it in front of her mother. Don't be angry, be concerned. Tell her that you needed to get rid
  • of it because it was defective and contained something toxic that'll cause cancer or something equally horrible. Watch the reaction.

  • Front_Rip4064 Put locks on everything and ask your bosses to ban her from the offices. Confine the little sh to one tiny portion of the premises.
