In the words of the great band Alabama, "I'm in a hurry to get things done, I rush and rush until life's no fun. All I really gotta do is live and d** but I'm in a hurry and don't know why." Anyone else relate to that? I think it's probably, say it with me, anxiety. Anxiety makes you feel like you're running a marathon even though you don't know why you're running and you can't remember what's waiting for you at the finish line.

You're walking down the street at breakneck speeds even though you're not late and there's nothing chasing you. You cook dinner for yourself as though you're on the television show Chopped. You eat like someone's going to take it away from you. This is all because of our old friend anxious brain. It will race and race and force you to keep up with its speed. You have to make yourself slow down every once and a while.

Some good ways to slow your roll are by taking a yoga class (or following a video online), sitting down with a journal and writing your feelings out in long hand, and scrolling through some memes. Memes force you to take a beat, laugh, and give yourself a pause before you're back to rushing. Enjoy the break.
