It's natural for any father to want their daughter to find someone with money, who can provide for them, take care of them, and support them. But trying to set up your daughter while she's already in a relationship? Now that's just delusional. What did he expect her to do?

She's right for standing her ground. Not only is it incredibly insulting that her father thinks he can dictate her dating like and future, but it's even more insulting that he expects her to just dump her boyfriend for some guy she's never even met. No one would do that.

27-year-old daughter blows up at father when he tries to get her to date his boss’s son despite already having a boyfriend, he accuses her of being stubborn: “I’m not some business deal he gets to negotiate”
Who remembers the 1992 Disney film Aladdin? Based on the fairytale One Thousand and One Nights, it's about a peasant boy who falls in love with a princess. Prior to them getting together, it's the princess's father's job to find her a suitor. It's a great Disney movie, one of my favorites, but watching it as an adult gives a different impression. How outdated does it seem now to try and marry off your own daughter, or to have a say in the matter at all? Women these days typically decide these things for themselves. Thank goodness we live in the times we do.
I couldn't imagine if my father (or mother) tried to get me into marrying someone. Luckily, my parents have never disliked any of my boyfriends. My dad isn't one of these "protective" types either. They both trust me, and that I can make those decisions for myself.
But in the story below, the father thinks he knows better than his daughter about her dating life and what's best for her. Read the full story below for all the juicy details.
