Hey, friends! We love a wholesome adoption story as much as the next ICanHasCheezburger reader, but this one especially tugged at our heartstrings. Today, we're featuring the heartwarming tale of a person who fell in love with their local neighborhood stray and decided to do the right thing—giving this sweet baby a second chance at life.

Now, back to today's featured nugget of wholesome goodness. The original poster (or OP) of this touching story first noticed a stray hanging out on his roof. Wanting to help, he began leaving out food and water on his porch so Miss Kitty would know she was welcome. One night, OP heard the sounds of a catfight outside and rushed to investigate. His beloved stray had clearly been involved, sporting a neck injury. Without hesitation, he took her to the vet. Once she returned home after treatment, it quickly became clear—this cat wasn't going anywhere. She had found her forever home, and OP had gained a new best friend.
