PTO is earned. Employees are not only allowed but should be encouraged to take their PTO. If a company sets limits to how much and when their workers can take paid time off or sick days, then they might have a lawsuit on their hands. It is within an employee's right, especially if they give notice in advance, to take PTO or use the sick days given to them upon signing their contract. Though one might risk workplace retaliation, anything is better than working under a supervisor who enforces toxic and likely illegal rules.

"My boss sent me an email that I can't take sick days on specific days, which to me is the final straw in a string if micromanaging weirdness. Is it worth talking to her manager?"
