'Your puppy has a brother now': Scared puppy wanders right up to new dog pawrent asking for help, he leads the person to an unexpected friendship

Sometimes, you choose the dog you want to adopt, and other times, the dog chooses you. Fur example, when we adopted our first doggo, we went to an adoption day and we picked out our baby girl from a mass of puppies. She was the scared, timid one who couldn't even imagine smiling. Now she's as happy as ever, sleeping on "her" couch. Our second doggo, however, chose us. He found us when we were on a trip, and we couldn't just leave him there in the wild. We took him home, and that was that.

When the dog chooses you, you can be sure the Dog Distribution System is at work. Sometimes, the universe decides you are ready for another dog whether you like it or not, and it's nearly impawssible to say no. So when this poor puppy walked right up to this new dog pawrent's doorstep, she was obviously distraught. She had just gotten a new puppy, could she really handle another one?   • 2-3 hours? You couldn't pay us to wait that long. We would be hard-pressed to wait more than five minutes before going out and helping him. We just can't resist puppy-dog eyes. It's our one and only weakness (that, and cheese).

    Fine_Artz07 First, you bring her in and make a cozy spot in your bathroom away from other pets/people. Food and water. Then you can decide to call shelters to see where you can take her for her to be checked for a chip/ owner.

    If you have the heart and means, make her part of your family. Or contact a rescue or foster and get her to a family she can be a part of hopefully for a long time.

  • We firmly believe that dogs, like cats, are better raised in pairs. They need a buddy. There is usually one confident one and one nervous one. The nervous one needs the confident one to provide security. The confident needs the nervous one to care for. It's a complete cycle.
