If you could bring one thing from video games into real life, what would it be? A lot of people would probably go for cheat codes—infinite money, god mode, the ability to noclip through traffic jams. Others might go for power-ups like Mario's invincibility star or Quake's quad damage, but personally, I want just one thing:

A heads-up display (HUD).

I want people's names floating above their heads so I never embarrass myself by forgetting. I need a glowing waypoint on the ground to tell me exactly where I'm supposed to go. I want an objective list to keep me from wandering aimlessly through life, and a progress bar that tells me how close I am to mastering a skill (or how many more emails I need to send before I level up in "Being a Responsible Adult").

Because, let's be honest—real life has way too many side quests, and half the time I forget what the main quest even was.
