Welcome back internet ladies. Everyone loves the movie Princess Diaries, and there's simply no denying it. It's a classic that most girls grow up watching, not only for its hilarity and iconic San Francisco scenes, but for its wholesome and adorable dynamic between Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrew. No one expected for such a creative movie to have a glow up the way Mia Thermopolis did. And who wasn't jealous of her artist mother, in their strange and obscure architectural home? I know I was. I loved her fireman pole to get down from her room (but how did she get up?) and her fat cat. 

Mia Thermopolis is the iconic coming of age story for the girl who was always the ugly duckling, but then had a glow up into a beautiful woman and princess. I consider myself to have had a glow up as well. Growing up, I didn't feel beautiful at all. I felt ugly, gawky, awkward, and like my facial features were just strange.
