Substitute teacher fails student on music assignment because of bias against sound clip, student makes sound clip play everywhere: 'She changed my grade [...] from a D to an A+'

Most students have had the experience of having an under-qualified substitute teacher leading their class. Perhaps this person was thrown into the classroom at the last minute because of a better substitute's lack of availability. Regardless of the details of the situation, most folks have seen this happen in real-time. 

When this kind of mixup occurs, nine times out of ten, students just don't get anything substantial done for the hour. Sure, it's a waste of time, but it's a harmless waste of time. Personally, I always used to feel bad for the substitute if students were giving them a hard time. It's not like they were given a lot of time to prepare before being thrown into the deep end, so to speak. They don't deserve to be treated poorly as a result.

However, in this instance, we have a substitute teacher who was taking over the classroom for an entire semester and who was on a bit of a power trip. Keep scrolling below to see how this student gave her a well-deserved taste of her own medicine.

  • This substitute was teaching a computer class that incorporated lessons on Adobe Photoshop and Music Studio. Assignments tended to be creative, but the substitute decided to grade in a highly biased and unfair manner, which meant no one was getting above a B average.
